Hey friends!

My name is Laura Cosner and I am a professional musician and music teacher. I teach private voice and piano lessons to children and adults. I have taught Elementary and Middle School music in the public schools with 10 years of experience in teaching, directing, and choreographing musicals. Performance is a passion of mine. I have conducted church choirs at Bensalem Presbyterian and Eagle Springs Baptist here in NC, where I reside as the Choir Director and Church Pianist. I have taught classes in singing and music theory, both in public school and private settings.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education K-12 with a focus in Vocal Performance and Choral Music from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. There, I was so blessed to acquire extensive performing experience, opera being one of my favorites. However, I am equally passionate about teaching, which is why I chose the path of Music Education. God has been faithful in allowing me to do what I love!

Why I do what I do?

I have been enjoying music since I was 2 years old standing on the hearth at my parent's house singing my ABCs and Jesus Loves Me (with an audience of course) ha! I will never forget the feeling of performing for the very first time, singing at my beloved home Church at Bensalem Presbyterian. It was a feeling of excitement and worship and I never wanted it to end once I got through the fear. After that, my parents immediately began to nurture this passion of mine and I knew at a very young age that music would be a part of my life forever. I still enjoy performing any chance I get I knew that God would place unique opportunities in my life and I cannot give Him enough praise for it. I have a bit of a different approach to my lessons and the most important thing to me is encouraging my students to worship our One True God through the talents that He has given them.
